Basic health insurance: applications received by 30 November take effect at the end of the year.

Basic health insurance (Health Insurance Act – KVG): Termination effective 31 December – the notice must reach the insurer by 30 November at the latest.
With the standard excess (CHF 300) and no alternative model, it is also possible to switch to 30 June, provided the application is received by 31 March.
The cancellation only takes effect once your new health insurance provider has confirmed seamless cover to your previous insurer.
